Introduction to Voice Training

Testimonial

“Lessons with Flloyd have embedded in me the deep sense of respect for an impact that elocution has on the quality and efficiency of our daily communication. While I am not there yet and there is a lot of hard work to be done, I am excited about the possibilities and journey ahead. This excitement is also resulting from the fact that our lessons are not only helpful but also fun. Thank you Flloyd!” Valentina Ryabova (Dublin)

“the time I spent preparing with Flloyd was a key part in the warm and enthusiastic response I got from attendees.”
Rachel Schofield, (NSW) Hand in Hand Parenting Instructor | Consultant http://www.theconnectedparent.com.au

“What I very much like about your style of teaching is your enthusiasm and the rare
combination of practical skills and an in-depth theoretical background. I enjoy every single lesson.” Prof Jürgen Götz, founding Director, Queensland Brain Institute – Clem Jones Centre for Ageing Dementia Research

It breaks my heart when I hear the words "the teacher said I couldn't sing", and "the boss says I sound monotonous". The first is just not true, ever! The second is a personal judgment. Both are damaging to the soul. Making music is part of being human. Not everyone has perfect pitch, but we can all sing. Monotone means One Note. A voice that sound monotonous is not actually on one note, but it does have a narrower than usual range, and so it strikes the ear as less interesting. We can all learn to control our pitch more efficiently, whether for the purpose of speaking or singing.

5* review on Amazon, for "Sunsets & Kites" — "A beautiful collection of writing: I ordered this on a recommendation from a friend, I am not disappointed. Flloyd Kennedy writes from the heart about the past and present day. The poems, essays and song lyrics will make you stop and ponder on the topics covered. It made me laugh (In defence of the so called lying Cretan) and brought a tear to my eye (Am I Old Yet?). Do your soul a favour and buy a copy." Regular vocal maintenance just hasn't been cutting it for me for a while. Then the wonderful Joanna Cazden taught me this, and I am happy again.
